FAQ
When will there be a downloadable version of cero card games ?
err... We're aiming to have it beta-working in about one month. We don't know if this beta will get released though. If you want to be the first informed, e-mail us, you can be sure you'll get an enthousiast answer !
What is Cero ?
Cero is a card game manager allowing anyone to create and play it's own card games. Of course, it's an open-source project, and it's led by a group of students (ROUX Camille (Windoz), SIVADE Mathieu (Telestmonnom), SEGRET Matthieu (Aioros) and LAGUERRE Michael (mick14_18)) from the Polytechnic School of Sophia-Antipolis (France), an engineering school in computer sciences.
Where does the name Cero come from ?
It's a long story, yet I'll shorten it... In the beginning there was Uno, one of the most sold card game around the world. One day, an idea crossed the mind of our project manager, aka Windoz : Why not developing an open-source implementation of Uno ? And that's what he did during his spare time in summer 2003. He named it Duo. By the way, here is a link to the Duo's Homepage. Moreover, the fame of this game spread all over the world, and has now * almost ;-) * outdone the fame of Uno !
Back on topic : why is this project named Cero ? After Duo, starting the development of another sequel called Trio wouldn't have been most creative. And so, we went back to the origin with this card games manager and gave birth to Cero. Cero symbolizes the idea of open-source, the fact it is totally free. Moreover, as zero is the number from which every other numbers are created, Cero is the card manager that allows users to create every single card game they may imagine.
